How to stop getting nightmares
Q0085: I have been suffering from jinn possession for a few years and I am now doing ruqyah to remove them. I read surah Baqarah in my house but I keep getting nightmares. Sometimes they are scary other times they are just upsetting. Please can you tell me how to stop myself from getting nightmares. I don't want these nightmares anymore.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
All praises are due to Allah and peace and blessings be upon our beloved messenger (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)
Although nightmares are not real, they can be quite distressing especially if they are repetitive. It can cause one to develop anxiety, a fear of sleeping and other psychological disorders associated to lack of sleep. Therefore you have done well to seek help stopping the nightmares rather than put up with them.
It is a weapon that the shayateen use to attack the mind of their victims. But it is a weak weapon that will only work if there is no protection and Allah (azza wa jall) allows it to work.
Therefore it is paramount that we rely completely on Allah and more importantly have strong conviction that Allah is completely able to protect His slaves.

"Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshiped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists.... He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
[This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursi.]
Practical Advice
Nightmares can be from two sources either an external jinn or an internal. It is important to get rid of the external jinns first. You have mentioned that you read surah Baqarah in your house and again you've done well to do so. Please make sure that you have followed all the advice regarding getting rid of external jinns.
How to get rid of external jinns from ones house
From the information that you have given it seems that the nightmares may be coming from the jinn inside you. So although your house maybe protected from jinns you need to protect your body.
The solution that I am about to offer will come across as very simple its also a very powerful method of protection that has been tried and tested. It is very effective at protecting oneself from the jinns inside as mentioned by many former patients.
To add this important layer of protection you must read the last three surahs three times each in one go then blow on your hands and wipe your hands over the front of your body from your head to feet or where ever it reaches.

It was reported that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said:
“When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) went to his bed, he would blow into his hands and recite Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad (Soorah 112) and the Mi’wadhatayn (Soorahs 113 and 114). Then he would wipe his hands over his face and his body, as far as they could reach.” ‘Aa’ishah said: “When he fell ill, he would ask me to do that for him.”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5416; Muslim, 2192)
So read
Surah Ikhlaas 112 x3
Surah Falaq 113 x3
Surah Naas 114 x3
Then blow on your hands and wipe over the front of your body as much as you can reach. If you wake up in the night from sleep. Repeat step 3 before going to sleep.
InshaAllah with these three steps observed you won't ever face nightmares again inshaAllah.
But don't become lazy and stop doing these protection method especially once the nightmares stop because its easy to ask for Allah's Help when we are in need but we must also show our gratitude to Allah in our times of ease.
Peace and blessings be upon the final messenger Muhammed (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) his family, companions and everyone who follow him in righteousness.
